Gesture, Contour drawings all drawings done with a medium vine charcoal

My first attempt at Gesture drawing.  I am trying to capture my daughters movements without looking at the page.
My son was posing on this attempt of a Gesture Drawing.  He was pretty stiff, however trying to do this in one minute is tough, also tough to not focus on the page and focus on the subject.

In this take I got a little movement out of my model. By now I am warming up to the idea.

I tried something different in this Gesture drawing, I played dance music.  I found that not only did I get more movement out of the model I also drew faster.  Go figure.
By now we are having fun with the Gesture drawings with our dancing and sketching.

This was my continuous line drawing.  I kept the Charcoal on the paper throughout the drawing.
This was my organizational line attempt.  Though it looks messy I was attempting to run my lines through past their endpoints.

This was my attempt at a contour line drawing.  This is hard because I wanted to focus more on details but I understand this type to be more of an out line.
